IMPORTANT  REC INFORMATION

  • U4 - U8 play academy style. They break into two teams on game day, playing on adjacent fields, utilizing the head coach and the assistant coach. These sub teams can be divided up differently each week, allowing players to gain experience playing with different players throughout the season. It also allows for fewer players on the field at a time, creating the opportunity for a higher touch rate and more playing time.

  • U9 - U14 play with the same players on their team each week.

  • Practices will be 1 time per week at and games will primarily be on Saturdays with possibility of a Sunday game or two and weeknight games during the months of August through early October. Games cancelled due to inclement weather will be re-scheduled the following week on Sundays afternoons or Friday evenings.

  • Recreation will be using the same jerseys as seasons past at our main SFSC location. New Beach Grove, Mooresville, and Perry locations will need jerseys or use same jerseys from prior season. Please make sure to select jersey sizes for your player during registration.

FAQ

  • Where do I find out whose team my child is on?

    PLAYMETRICS!

Here at St. Francis we utilize PlayMetrics for everything!

All communication with the Recreation Director as well as schedules and coaches communication will all be there!

  • Why haven't I heard anything from anyone?

We usually have over 1,000 kids sign up for our Rec Programs and so it takes us awhile to sort through everyone so usually you will not here anything from the Recreation Leagues Director until 1-2 weeks before the first official practice date that is listed on the website!

  • Can my child be on his friends team?

    Yes!

We honor all special requests that you submit when you sign up for the league! So when signing up simply put "Same team as ______" on the special request and we will make it happen!

  • Can my child play up or down in a league?

We do allow players to play up but we do not let players play down. We try to keep this policy across all age categories and leagues.

  • I'm new to soccer, what equipment will I need?

First of all our child will need a soccer ball (appropriate to their age) that they can bring with them to practice!

Children will also need shinguards and long socks that go over their shinguards! There is no preference on color of any socks!

You may also want to invest in cleats BUT those are optional!

  • When are practices?

The great thing about St. Francis is that you actually get to pick when you would like to train! In the "special request" function on PlayMetrics when you are signing up you can tell us what days you are available to practice!

All practices occur between Monday and Thursday between 6pm-7pm!

  • When are games played?

All Recreational games are played on Saturdays between 8am and 12pm!

We do utilize some Sundays sometimes as well between 1pm and 5pm, but these are usually reserved for make up games only!
